KLIF-AM Groundbreaking report

“An organization in Tarrant County will soon be offering some long-term housing to women trying to flee abusive relationships. Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price says The Gatehouse will offer counseling and education other shelters lack. “Often times they are bumped into a home of their own or an apartment of their own and their children are tossed into school and left to go on their own resources and that doesn’t work,” Price said. The facility will cover 61 acres of land on the northwest corner of DFW airport and should be open next fall. Residents there will have the ability to stay for up to two and a half years.”

KXAS (NBC) Groundbreaking report

Today, construction crews will start building a new shelter for women and children in Grapevine. The Gatehouse will offer a supportive home for families in crisis. The community includes a free independent life program to get women on their feet. It will open on Stone Meyer Parkway.
