The 2018 HandUp for Success Corporate luncheon brought together nearly 600 people in support of some of the region’s most vulnerable residents, women and children. Proceeds from sponsorships, auction items, centerpiece sales, and donations directly support Gatehouse families as they work to end cycles of abuse and poverty and build new lives for themselves and their children.
The Gatehouse also awarded the first “Woman to Watch” award to Mattie J. Parker, Chief of Staff to Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. The award recognizes professional women role models who give others in the community, including Gatehouse members, the inspiration needed to achieve their highest potential in their professional and personal life.
“Seeing women and their kids be transformed into happy, healthy, productive members the community makes this worth it,” said Lisa Rose, Founder and President of The Gatehouse. “The leaders and companies who participated in this year’s event understand the magnitude of what permanent change takes, and we thank them for helping give women who need it most, the hand up it takes to build new lives.”

Held each spring, the HandUp for Success Corporate Luncheon ignites action between corporations and The Gatehouse so women and children in crisis have a hand up for permanent, positive change.
The Woman to Watch Award, presented at the HandUp for Success Corporate Luncheon, recognizes a mid- to senior-level career professional woman who works with her head and heart to achieve success in her career while demonstrating a personal commitment to bettering her community and living a life of integrity and character.
