The Gatehouse community has 96 apartments and includes a Washington Community Education Center with an Event Center attached, two in-neighborhood Advisor Centers, General Store, Keeps Boutique, Hope Chapel walking trails and commercial space. This community, which allows members to stay up to 2½ years depending on their individually tailored program, provides safe refuge and creates the environment for women and children in crisis to walk the path toward permanent change.

The Gatehouse is an initiative of the 501(c)(3) projectHandUp, whose mission is to offer women a practical hand up with life’s challenges.
